The Lok Sabha or House of the People, elections to which ended on 23 May 2019. This is 17th Lok Sabha since India gained independence in 1947. Narendra Modi swore as 16th Prime Minister of India on 30 May 2019.
The first session of 17th Lok Sabha began on Monday with many well-known leaders taking an oath. There was a good play of linguistic diversity during the swearing-in ceremony of Lok Sabha Candidates who became Lok Sabha Members after signing and taking the oath.
