IIM Indore, which is conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT) this year, released the CAT 2026 admit card on Friday, November 6, 2026, according to education portals tracking the release. The admit card had earlier been expected on November 4 but was pushed to November 6. Candidates can now download it from the official website, iimcat.ac.in, ahead of the exam on Sunday, November 29, 2026.

CAT 2026 at a glance

  • Conducting institute: IIM Indore.
  • Exam date: Sunday, November 29, 2026.
  • Mode: computer-based test, held in three sessions on the same day.
  • Test cities: about 170 cities across India, as reported.
  • Registrations: about 2.84 lakh, according to reports, slightly lower than the roughly 2.95 lakh of 2025.
  • Result: expected in the first week of January 2027, with the provisional answer key expected in December 2026.

Slot timings as reported

  • Slot 1: 8:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Slot 2: 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
  • Slot 3: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Each session lasts 120 minutes. Your admit card shows your allotted slot, test centre and reporting time; always go by what is printed on it rather than by general timings.

How to download the CAT 2026 admit card

1. Go to iimcat.ac.in.

2. Click on "Registered Candidate Login".

3. Enter your CAT 2026 user ID and password, fill in the captcha and log in.

4. On the dashboard, click on the "CAT 2026 Admit Card" link.

5. Check every detail, download the PDF and take two or three clear colour printouts on A4 paper.

If you have forgotten your user ID or password, use the recovery option on the login page. The admit card will not be sent by post, and only a printed copy is accepted at the centre.

Check these details carefully

  • Your name, photograph and signature
  • Test centre address and city
  • Exam slot and reporting time
  • Instructions printed on the second page

If you find a mistake, contact the CAT helpdesk listed on the official website without delay.

What to carry on exam day

  • The printed admit card.
  • An original, valid government photo ID, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence, voter ID or passport. Check the admit card for the exact list of accepted IDs and whether a photocopy is also required.
  • Nothing else that is not allowed: mobile phones, calculators, watches and other electronic devices are not permitted inside the exam hall. An on-screen calculator is provided.

Reach early

Candidates are advised to reach the centre at least an hour before the session begins. Gates close shortly before the test starts, and late arrivals are not allowed in. Visit your test centre a day earlier if it is in an unfamiliar part of the city, and plan for traffic on a Sunday morning.

Final-week tips

  • Take one or two full-length mock tests at the same time of day as your slot.
  • Revise formulas and question types you are comfortable with rather than starting new topics.
  • Sleep well the night before and keep your documents ready in one folder.

Candidates should rely on iimcat.ac.in for any change in dates or instructions.
