Bollywood stars, as a community, have always rooted for all things patriotic. In these times of COVID-19, Bollywood Town has also banded together as a social media entity to promote the virtues of lockdown.

The recent #DilSeThankYou sees the stars stand up and ovate India’s Corona Warriors — particularly Mumbai Police, who have been working tirelessly to ensure a safe city, even as Mumbai continues to be one of the worst-affected zones in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in India.

As Akshay Kumar rightly noted, the need of the hour was to thank the police for their service. “There’s an army of people working day and night to keep us safe, our families safe. Lets together say #DilSeThankYou to them because that’s the least we can do,” the superstar said on social media.

Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff including Karan Johar, took to social media to express gratitude to Mumbai Police with hashtag #DilSeThankYou for their extraordinary efforts to maintain law and order in the city amid the COVID 19 lockdown.

Actress Alia Bhatt, known for films like “Dear Zindagi” and “Highway”, tweeted the video with the caption: thank you Mumbai police Words cannot express our love and gratitude. Let’s stay at home for them. #TakingOnCorona.

Mumbai police included three of Bhatt’s hit films in their response and said:

“Mumbaikars, we hope you all are ‘Raazi’ with this advice of Ms to not venture out in any ‘Gully’ unnecessarily and take care of ‘Dear Zindagi’ for all!”

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor also tweeted in praise of Mumbai police and said: “Giving up on their dreams for keeping the city of our dreams safe. Thank You Mumbai police We owe you a lot and staying at home is the least we can do! #TakingOnCorona #MumbaiFirst.”

They responded with: “The most ‘Shaandaar’ support Mumbaikars can provide right now is to stay at home. And make plans for what all we would do together ‘Jab We Meet’ post lockdown #TakingOnCorona.”

Karan Johar, wrote, “Immensely grateful to the Mumbai police for working tirelessly and relentlessly to ensure our safety and protecting us during these turbulent times! We are so thankful and our changed profile is a tiny way of expressing our deepest gratitude!

Many other Bollywood stars like Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Mrunal Thakur, and Bhumi Pednekar have followed suit.

However, Twitter users not only praised the Mumbai police force for doing their duties. But they also commended them for their use of humor in such trying times.
