1. John Abraham – Bipasha Basu
John and Bipasha were one of those Bollywood couples whose relationship and separation caused quite a stir among the entire film fraternity and their fans. They were one of the most loved couples of Bollywood who broke a million hearts when they got separated after an alleged relationship of eight years.
They, however, respected each other’s privacy and never revealed the reason behind their split in public. Now, both of them have successfully moved on and have beautiful spouses of their own. Where Bipasha is married to the popular TV star Karan Singh Grover, John secretly got hitched to a banker from New York, Priya Runchal.
2. Salman Khan – Aishwarya Rai
The Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan love story can be easily claimed as one of the ugliest breakup stories of Bollywood including all kinds of drama. The duo came together when they started filming the movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ in the year 1999. Aishwarya’s parents, however, never approved of their relationship right from the start.
Soon, she called off quits after he continued to assault her physically and mentally. Salman could not come to terms with the breakup initially and went berzerk and caused an ugly scene during the shooting of ‘Chalte Chalte’.
When Aishwarya started dating Vivek Oberoi soon after their breakup, Salman got so upset that he made sure Vivek’s career was finished. They broke up in 2002 but till date, they have not been able to be on talking terms with each other.
3. Shahid Kapoor – Kareena Kapoor
Nobody can deny that Shahid and Kareena were the It-couple of Bollywood whom everybody adored. Bebo confessed on Koffee with Karan, that it was she who made the first move in their relationship. The duo has been very open about their relationship right from the start and never shied away from talking about it.
After dating for almost 4 years, the couple split up in the year 2007 while shooting for the movie Jab We Met due to unknown reasons and has since never shared a screen together. As of today, both of them have their own families and successful film careers and claim that they continue to remain friends and well-wishers.
4. Akshay Kumar – Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa and Akshay were one of the most loved on-screen couples with their spot-on comic timing and exceptional acting skills. Love, naturally, blossomed between the couple while they were shooting for the movie Main Khiladi Tu Anari.
Shilpa was completely in love with Akshay. However, he was cheating on her with her best friend, Twinkle Khanna, all along. Soon, Akshay married the latter and left Shilpa devastated and heart-broken. As of today, Shilpa is married to the affluent businessman Raj Kundra and claims that she and Akshay share a good friendship and that she has let the bygones be bygones.
5. Malaika Arora – Arbaaz Khan
Another power couple who left everybody shocked and heartbroken when they split up and ended their 18-year-marriage is Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan. After 5 years of dating, they decided to take things to the next level by taking the wedding vows in front of their friends and family.
Their church-wedding was followed by a nikah and a lavish reception for friends from the fraternity. After their divorce, Malaika continues to keep Arbaaz as a close friend. Currently, she has been dating the Gunday actor, Arjun Kapoor for quite some time but has not made it official in public.
