Every now and then, there come individuals who do something so erratic yet inspirational that you are left wondering, ‘How did they do that!’ Well, hold on to your seats, we are presenting you a list with some early-bird achievers who really did something mindboggling for the first time ever and created records that may never get beaten!
Here is a list of some astonishing humans who will simply blow your mind with what they did:
Alia Sabur
Alia Sabur, born February 22, 1989, is the world record holder for being the world’s youngest professor according to the GWR (Guinness Book of World Records)! On 19 February 2008, at just 18 years of age, she was appointed to be a professor at the Dept. of Advanced Technology Fusion at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea in partnership with Stony Brook University, New York, USA.
She was so talented IQ-wise, that she left public school as a fourth-grader and enrolled herself to the State University of New York at the young age of 10 and graduated from there summa cum laude (highest distinction) at the age of 14! Later, she attended the Drexel University in 2006 where she received her M.S. She is currently working as a materials scientist and was part of the research team for Hurricane Katrina at the Southern University in New Orleans.
Jessica Cox
Jessica Cox, born 2 February 1983 is the world’s first-ever licensed armless pilot according to the GWR and the world’s first-ever armless black-belt as per the American Taekwondo Association. She was born armless due to a genetic birth defect but didn’t let her disability dial down her wish to fly. She flew her first-ever single-engine airplane for the first time in 2005 and earned her pilot’s certificate on October 10, 2008, which qualifies her to fly light-sport aircraft to altitudes of around 10,000 feet.
She is currently a motivational speaker who has shared her inspiring story in more than 20 countries. She published an autobiographical self-help book called ‘Disarm Your Limits’ in which she helps people to overcome their own challenges by citing examples from her own life. She has also competed in the 40-mile segment of El Tour de Tucson. A documentary called ‘Right Footed’ was made on her life in 2015 which chronicles her life and humanitarian trips across the globe. The “Lower Extremity Vehicle Navigation Control System” made by Emirati engineer Reem Al Marzouqi which allows disabled people to drive a car without the use of their upper body is inspired by Cox’s life and her ideas.
Michael Kevin Kearny
Michael Kearny, born January 18, 1984, is the world’s youngest college graduate at the age of 10! As of the year 2017, Kearney remains the youngest person ever to have a high school diploma and undergraduate degrees! He enrolled at University of South Alabama at age of 8 in 1994 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in anthropology which lists him as the world’s youngest university graduate at the age of ten in the GWR.
He obtained a Master’s degree in chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University at the age of 14 and obtained his Master’s degree in computer science at Vanderbilt University at the age of 18! He was also the holder of the world record for being the world’s youngest postgraduate, but his record was broken in 1999 by Tathagat Avatar Tulsi of India. He has now earned his doctorate in chemistry at age 22 and works as a teaching assistant at the Middle Tennessee State University in Tennessee, USA.
Cleopatra Strantan
Cleopatra Strantan, born 6 October 2002 is considered the youngest professional singer in the world to score commercial success. At just the age of 3 in 2006, she launched an album “La vârsta de trei ani” with her father’s help and the album became a massive success in Moldova, her home country. The album received a double platinum disk certification for selling more than 150,000 albums in Romania itself!
She holds the record for being the highest-paid young artist (1000€ per song), the youngest artist to receive an MTV award and the youngest artist ever to score a No.1 hit in a country (with her song “Ghiță” in the Romanian Singles Chart). Many of her songs have been translated into English, Spanish, and Japanese as well!
Balamurali Ambati
Balamurali Krishna “Bala” Ambati, born July 29, 1977, holds the unique distinction of being the world’s youngest doctor in 1995 according to the GWR. He is an American ophthalmologist, educator, and researcher by profession and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s youngest doctor, at the age of 17 years, 294 days old on May 19, 1995!
He graduated from the New York University at age 13 and received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine at age 17. His work includes corneal transplants, artificial cornea replacement, cataract extraction and LASIK surgery. He has performed several surgeries and trained numerous surgeons in Malaysia and Ghana under the NGO Flying Eye Hospital and has helped immensely in preventing and treating blindness in developing countries.
