It is a tradition of Google to honour an event or some famous personality through its doodle. It is also a way for us to know about some famous personalities who did something great and get inspired to do something similar to our lives as well.
The legendary actor Amrish Puri is featured today on Google doodle.
When one starts hating a person for real after seeing his reel negative roles in movies, it proves how great he was as an actor. He had an amazing voice, performance, charisma and was irreplaceable Bollywood villain.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again—and you might end up like Indian film actor Amrish Puri, who overcame an early setback on the way to fulfilling his big screen dreams.
The great Amrish Puri
Late Amrish Puri is still remembered for playing emblematic roles in Bollywood and other Indian and international film industries. Puri was born on 22 June 1932 in Nawanshahr, Punjab that was part of Brtish India back then. He acted in 400 films between 1967 and 2005. Amrish came to Mumbai after Madan and Chaman Puri who were already established actors back then. Amrish Puri also did some roles in Hollywood with the legendary role as Khan in Gandhi (1982) and as Mola Ram in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).
Puri also worked in Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films.

From failing in first screen test to becoming a legend
Amrish Puri failed his first screen test but did not give up and started working on Prithvi theatres. He also took a job as an insurance agent while struggling in Mumbai. Soon his talent was identified and he started working in Satyadev Dubey’s plays.
Puri went on to win Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1979, Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, Meri Jung in 1986, Sydney Film Festival as Best Actor Award for Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda in 1994 along with Singapore International Film festival Best Actor awards to name the few. During the 80s and 90s, there were hardly any movies made without taking him as a villain.
His most iconic role is Mogambo in Mr India. It stands with Gabbar of Shole.
