It was known as the ‘Elephant Falls’ because a stone near the falls looked like an elephant. The stone was torn down by an earthquake in the year 1897, but the name has stuck from that time only.

Mawlynnong Shillong Tourism is a small village in the Eastern Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya.

And it is famous for being declared as Asia’s cleanest village because of which it has also emerged as a popular destination in the past decade.
